I FILED A COMPLAINT

WHEN THE CHAIRMAN OF THE CIVILIAN INVESTIGATIVE PANEL SAID THAT THERE DIDN'T NEED TO BE AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE BAHAVIOR OF THE CHIEF OF POLICE OVER THE DESTRUCTION OF HOMICIDE EVIDENCE THAT WAS ALL I NEEDED TO FILE A COMPLAINT CALLING FOR JUST SUCH AN INVESTIGATION

Here is a copy of the complaint that I hand-delivered to the CIP on Wednesday, November 30th. When I delivered this complaint I learned that the letter that I had published as part of my October 18th story, had also been submitted to the CIP as a complaint against the Chief.

While I express criticism in my complaint about the quote attributed CIP Chairman Horaico Stuart Aquirre in the recent Herald article, it was explained to me that that comment did not represent his opinion that the CIP would not conduct an investigation, because the letter from the Black Officers group had already been submitted and accepted by the CIP.

Therefore I offer an apology for the implication that I gathered and responded to from the Herald story that Horacio was unwilling to entertain an investigation on the issues surrounding the destruction of evidence.

Here is my complaint.
