JOE CAROLLO WANTS EVERYONE TO THINK HE'S A TOUGH GUY LOOKING OUT FOR THE PUBLIC'S INTEREST. HE'S NOT! HE'S JUST ANOTHER IN A LONG LINE OF BIG MOUTH CUBAN POLITICIANS WHO  TALK SHIT UNTIL THE TIME COMES TO SELL HIS ASS LIKE THE REST OF THE CUBAN CROOKS BEFORE HIM.

NUMBER 74 - AUGUST 1, 2018

PHOTO OF THE DAY - WHEN FRANCIS SUAREZ ISN'T CONSPIRING WITH THE LIKES OF JORGE MAS TO SCREW OVER THE TAXPAYERS OF MIAMI, OR HOLDING SECRET MEETINGS WITH OTHER DEEP POCKET CAMPAIGN DONORS WHO WANT A RETURN ON THE MONEY THEY GAVE TO HIS CAMPAIGN, HE SPENDS A FAIR AMOUNT OF TIME SUCKING UP TO ABUELAS BECAUSE THAT'S WHERE HE EXPECTS TO GET THE VOTES HE NEEDS TO BECOME STRONG MAYOR

WAS JOE CAROLLO'S PAL MARC SARNOFF OUT HUSTLING MONEY FOR CAROLLO'S POTENTIAL LEGAL EXPENSES?

A few weeks ago there was a rumor that former Commissioner Marc "Pay For Play" Sarnoff was out and about raising money to help Carollo cover possible legal fees after the news broke that Steve Miro, Carollo's former aide, had flipped on him.

The news that Miro had gone to the State Attorney's Office with tales of Carollo using Special Funds from his office to host parties at local assisted living facilities as a way to introduce the residents to Alex de la Portilla, another Carollo pal, who was running in the Special District 5 County Commission race, was all the talk at City Hall in June.

Rumors are frumors, but it does seem from the records of Carollo's ECO, that in June a handful of folks decided that they had nothing better to do with their mad money than to donate it to Carollo's ECO.

A search of these companies reveal  that Vertical Specialists, Inc., Elite Decor and      First Class Movers, all belong to David Medina,($15,000), and Urban Consulting and LLC Coral Way Storage Investments belong to Jayme Halli, ($10,000), which means that $25,000 of the total $48,000 donated in June came from companies owned or associated to just 2 individuals.

Is it possible that Miro scared Carollo so bad that this really represented an effort to raise some legal defense money just in case he gets charged with some crime?

I doubt it, because no matter how many names Carollo has called Katherine Fernandez-Rundle over the years, he knows that at the end of the day, he's protected by the same Family and Friends Plan that protects all the Cuban politicians in Miami.

Fernandez-Rundle and her corrupt Public Corruption Unit never have a problem indicting Black, Jewish or Gringo politicians, but the only Cubans that ever get indicted are ones like Sweetwater Mayor Manny Morono, who are so blatant and egregiously corrupt that they serve as sacrificial lambs allowing all the really seriously corrupt Cuban politicians in Miami to get a free pass.

What is more likely is that Carollo decided not to let the opportunity to go by to use a threat of possible criminal or civil action against him as a way to raise a little mad money quickly, because as the saying goes, Never pass up an opportunity to fleece campaign donors from their money!

Back before Joe Carollo got elected, and I was still talking to him, one of the issues that made him foam at the mouth more than most of issues that he railed against on a daily basis was the idea of Francis Suarez becoming a "Strong Mayor."

Not only was he adamantly opposed to the idea, but he all but vowed that it would only happen over his dead body.

Of course that was before he got elected, and before he had his little Caficita Summit with Suarez, where they seem to have laid down their knives and pledged everlasting support for each other's schemes.

And that's been the key to Carollo behavior since that little coffee klatch, starting with his vote to support the soccer stadium deal.

Carollo has a couple really devious and underhanded schemes coming up, especially his scheme to create a so-called Housing Authority.

The notion of a conniving, duplicitous Joe Carollo creating any kind of "Housing Authority," is about as crazy as putting a child molestor in charge of the program that places children in foster homes, but in order to make it happen, he needs Francis Suarez, and as Suarez showed with his backroom deal with Jorge Mas, he's more than willing to screw the residents of Miami if he can benefit from the deal.

Yesterday, Joey Flechas posted a story about Francis Suarez's call for a Special Commission meeting next Monday to have them vote on putting a referendum  question on the November ballot to make him the "Strong Mayor."

Flechas in his story reported that only 3 Commissioners had agreed to attend this Monday meeting, and said of the 2 who weren't attending: "Carollo said he is not going to Monday’s meeting due to commitments he cannot change, and Commissioner Keon Hardemon’s office confirmed he will not attend."

Imagine that. Carollo says he has a commitment, "he cannot change."

In City Commission language, that translates into, 'I promised I wouldn't vote against your proposal, and the only way I can do that is not to show up.'

Keon Hardemon is also another weak-ass coward, only his reason is not that he would ever vote against Suarez, but rather that with Carollo refusing to show, the vote to approve the referendum question would require a 3 to 1 yes vote, and if he and "Sellout": Russell were to vote YES, and Reyes and Gort were to vote NO, that would make it a 2-2 TIE, and TIES are the same as a NO vote.

This is the way that democracy plays out in Miami. A couple corrupt Cuban politicians have a little Caficita Summit in a restaurant in the middle of Little Havana, and the outcome results in a mutual pact that results in both of them screwing the citizens.

¡Esto es Miami, Bitches!
