PHOTOS WORTH MORE THAN A THOUSAND WORDS

NUMBER 12 - MARCH 27, 2018

One of the things that I looked forward to during the years that I was traveling around photographing protests for my book were the signs that people would bring to protests.  There would always be a handful of signs that were so creative, whether provocative, funny or sad that made wading through tens of thousands of people looking to capture that handful of images that would make sense of what   had convinced people to come out into the streets worth the effort.

Thanks to Twitter, a lot of folks posted photos of the signs that people carried to Washington for last weekend's March Against Gun Violence.

There were a lot of good ones, but these two were my favorites,

OUR CORRUPT STATE ATTORNEY IS PROUD TO ANNOUCE HER SUCCESS IN BATTLING PUBLIC CORRUPTION DURING 2017

The Queen Of Swag was late in issuing her annual SAO Year In Review, but as defense attorneys comment about the way that the SAO handles discovery, 'Better late than never.'

This year's report included 1 page devoted to Public Corruption, and 2 pages to Awards and Recognitions, which  pretty much sums up where her true interests lie.

In a county plagued by massive and on-going public corruption, here are the only cases that Katherine Fernandez-Rundle found worthy of inclusion is her self-serving, pean to justice Miami style.

Miami's Mayor Francis Suarez poses with the cops assigned to protect ULTRA music goers from assault by Captain Javier Ortiz after he was allowed back to working overtime at the event after the incident in 2013 where he, his BBF Edward Lugo - currently President of the local Fraternal Order Of Police, and two other thug cops - were accused of beating a concert goer in an incident that resulted in ULTRA's insurance company paying a $400,000 settlement.

They were also accused of committing perjury, but the State Attorney's office chose not to pursue those charges because of the time honored tradition between their office and the Miami Police Department that protects a practice recognized nationally as "testilying."

Fortunately the squad was successful in keeping Ortiz from leaping on some unsuspecting concert goer and creating another embarrassing incident, but then the year is young, and there will be more opportunities for him to beat or possibly shoot some civilian before the year ends.

THAT ELECTRONIC MUSIC DOES STRANGE SHIT TO YOUR MIND

Nathan Kurland would like everyone to know that he got so excited and worked up at the ULTRA Music Festival, that by the time he was interviewed by the concert promoters, he had totally lost his mind and mistakenly failed to mention that he really wasn't a member of the Bayfront Park Trust anymore, having been replaced in November of 2017.

He apologizes for any misunderstanding, and promises not to listen to anymore electronic music for the remainder of the year.
